Speaking of conspiracy theories, strange that sufficient forces weren't in place to secure the Capital, given basically everyone warning that something like this happening was a real possibility. Couldn't possibly be possible that someone named Trump really wanted this to happen. This isn't my own crazy talk. People like Republican senators, the former head of the CIA and chief of DC police are asking these questions.
I've also in the name of science , been flipping occasionally on Fox News to see how they are finding a way to defend insurrection.

No you are 100% right!! Even Fox News can't figure it out why there was no Police or Riot force there in place, and the White House called in all the Troops when it started, yes Trump did call them in.. But usually any protests have to have a permit and that triggers security capital police etc...So everyone in running the government knew Trump was running a rally, and that the Capital was in session, there was a fuck up for sure Idol..

And Remember Fox News has both parties, Democrats and Republican people that work on the network, and then they have true anchors that don't fuck around and have no loyalty to either side they report the news period....I been watching both CNN and Fox and flipped to MSDNC as well just to see how they are reporting.. The same Biden was broadcasted live on Fox and Trump was not broadcasted anywhere except Fox....

Again This is not new other than being in Washington buddy, every State in the US has some sort of Legal/Parliament building, and Antifa and BLM has been attacking all of them in Democratic run states, just zero reporting on Left Wing Mob Media, look what they have done to all the statues all over the US, thinking they are going to erase history by doing that....

Not one statue or art or anything was damaged in the Capital building!!!, they broke some windows and minor damage, nothing with history was touched period.........

Again you are right and it will be interesting how this is spun and blamed on Trump and not the Government running Washington.. Remember Trump has nothing to do with that or in any state!!!

I actually have an acquaintance (my ex's most recent ex) who's been in the thick of the crowd action in DC.

I pray for the life lost today; relevant circumstances are obscured just now, subject to legalities as well as the need for spin, but as a strictly separate matter, what has happened doesn't begin to approach what CNN and MSNBC routinely refer to as peaceful "demonstrations" while flames rage in the background.

As far as the political weigh-in, we could have assumed Trump would be the target of most commentary, no matter how silly, but I was struck, listening to OBiden, to hear him attribute a quote to Abe Lincoln, given his propensity to plagiarism, but also that a large chunk of his audience has likely never even heard of Abe Lincoln, missing as he's been from American History for a few decades.

This was certainly not a high-water mark for public behavior, and it's not the way to start a new year, but the political/media dynamic is downright giggle-worthy in its predictability.

No matter what people think, the US is the worlds powerhouse and influences Democracies around the world, and truly allies right...

Btw there is some crazy talk going around ultra right-wing crazy circles that the "mob" was infiltrated by antifa, who were the ones who instigated the attack. they even as evidence have some really poorly photoshopped pictures to prove it.
