University of Michigan's IT department suggests terms like ‘picnic’ and ‘brown bag’ are offensive...

Alternatives include 'lunch and learn' for 'brown bag' and 'gathering' for 'picnic'

Now i could say "brown bagging" was always sad, especially when you saw others had white McDonald's bags in the day

Did i think using that word "offensive" was warranted for any situation ?? Fuck no!!!!!!!!!!

I can say if this shit keeps up, for my grandchildren, it ain't going to be no "Picnic" to live in this world

I hope using the word "Ain't", will not offend anyone

Really something to look forward too..

Have a very Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating

(enjoy saying that for now until that is on the hit list)

And in the northern territories enjoy your "White" Christmas for now...

(For sure they are coming for that offensive wording )

    Shay

I can't wait for the rewording alternative for that

The problem is that some people confuse inclusion with indulgence. Everyone has the right to have equal opportunity and freedom from bigotry and basically that's about it. Freedom from bigotry and equal opportunity doesn't include you demanding that I now have to refer to you as zir, you entitled twat.

Also if we can't use brown bagging it anymore how are we going badmouth bags?

Given the anti-History bias coinciding with the Left-Liberal dominance of education which has taken root in the US over the past sixty or so years, it literally seems that "history" - such as it is currently constituted - consists of nothing at all except slavery, and the scurrilous idea that slavery is exclusively an American phenomenon, and is to be used to delegitimize America's Founding and it's ideals.

We need to wrest education from the Left and set it Right again.

    I Agree, but how??

Funny that there is only a few places you can read or see in the media actually pointing out this issue?

It is quite humorous how the media mob always blaming of Politicians or Government, and not going to the actual root cause,..

On a point of nonproductive language, referring to the media as a "mob" while ironically using that particular word only because you were force feed it by an agent of the (right-wing) media is both divisive and hypocritical.
Mobs exist on social media, not on actual professional news. Speaking with a single voice on an issue doesn't make you a "mob" unless every administration, every police force and every army is then also a "mob" .
You can call it liberal bias if you must but then you also must agree that there is also ill-considered conservative bias and we mostly are simply flawed people trying our best to do what we see as being right so no need for Kyle Rittenhouse to shoot me just because he's a little homo with a gun.

"Mob" is a generic-enough term for use here, especially as it was used to refer to all media, inclusive.

For the Left-media, insofar as it constitutes the numeric bulk of the larger media, it is suitable as well.

I don't know, Idol, what sources you consume, but in America, we have OAN, Newsmax, and to a lesser extent, Fox News; the rest of TV media is OWNED by the Left.

The Right owns talk radio, true story, so I guess if you want to describe that as a "mob", it's okay with me.

The fact is, the vast majority of media here leans solidly Left, period, end-of-statement.

Is there a 'Right-media' in Canadia?

Also, Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Plenty of right wing media. The leading newspaper The Globe and Mail is quite right wing. The only problem I have with media of either stripe is when they distort facts or surreptitiously lead instead of simply report. Opinions should be left to clearly marked opinion sections so that people don't conflate reality and supposition. That btw is why OAN, NewsMax and Fox got hit with the recent lawsuits. They had people on speaking opinion without anyone giving the other, in this case true, side and had to clean it up with an after the fact "Gee. We don't necessarily agree what those people we constantly have on are saying is true".
Christ. The CEO of OAN or NewMax even said that he knows much of what they air is bs but those views have an audience from which they can hugely profit so, whatever.

I will give you that certain left wing media regularly sensationalize, sometimes fear monger and aren't above selectively reporting but the vast majority of them still hold onto the principle of not lying.

Not lean, sends a narrative to people to that the moderate conservative thinking is evil and misguided you know the constitution that the US is founded on

Is there a 'Right-media' in Canadia?
You know what is really funny when you ask that question to a person who is a liar and a hypocrite the answer you will get is laughable....

The Globe and Mail reports the news period!!, then it has opinion writers that lean every way, hens a more valid news paper. I would say the Same with Global News for visual news, Then there is a offshoot of online Sun newspaper that reports news , every other station/media outlet uses and refers to CNN reporting, that should answer that question more clearly..

Again when liars and people like what they are hearing, think the news is reported and don't look at both sides, that makes them feel good and think hey maybe I am not so obtuse after all, that is coming from the Education system and that needs to change...My friends run security here for many speakers in Universities and Colleges, and if they didn't have it, well you know the answer to that....
The same question once a Professor gets tenure, any curriculum standard goes out the window, and that needs to be fixed......
The same the constitution needs to be taught, not laws they choose to change to fit a narrative of thinking or there ideology.....

Again my suggestions and opinions for the changes......

Tell me has Hunter Biden been hiding in your state buddy, no one seems to know where he is, the same with your new incoming Vice President

    Idol-

    That last is crap, sorry.

The Left media in America is an echo-chamber.

Over there, the Globe and Mail is only "Right wing" relative to the rest of your media.

Nonetheless, if that is YOUR primary consumption, I congratulate you.

As I've mentioned elsewhere here, I correspond daily with a plethora (love that word) of Canadians - truck-driver specie - domestic and imported versions.

They ALL love Canada for it's freebies while holding it in contempt for it's Socialism.

They also realize that, as goes America, so goes Canada.
