Well I know the GeForce FX5200 256mb ddr would be better than the GeForce FX5200 128mb ram but I dont know how much better. Like on a game how much better would my fps be,and how much better is the 256mb version and 128mb version better than a geforce mx 420 64mb?

I am asking this because I have a geforce mx 420 and my friend just got a geforce fx 5200 128mb and I can get a geforce fx 5200 256mb for about 80 bucks,so thats why i am asking.

the 256mb wont be much better then the 128mb becuz there are no games right now that need 256mb , most games only require 32-64mb. so fps wise, not very much.

The main processor of the FX5200 is a far better design then the MX440 and will run faster. The processor of the Geforce 3 cards is said to better than the MX440 cards.

More memory is only worthy if your software or games utilize it. I mean, it can save your systems resources by not hogging your main memory. But 256 megs of DDR memory on a video card is plenty unless you are doing serious video editing and/or graphics rendering. (doubtful unless you're a professional)

I'm sure others will chime in...
