how would i knw whether my motherboard supports 8x videocards ?
i have a 4x card right no
i dont have a manual
so......??

Find out what brand and model number is your motherboard (yes, you must open your case) and look it up on the manufacturer website. BTW, most 8x videocards are backward compatible with 4x and 2x AGP slots.
Also, http://www.motherboards.org/ has mobo ID tools. All you need to do is say what chipset, how many PCI, ISA, slots bla, bla, etc. It will show motherboards that fits that description. Each description will have a picture of the motherboard so you can compare it.

all cards at the moment support minimum 4x
