Lame Avatars

I've only been away for a few months..... ok it maybe longer but in that time it looks like most people have changed over to using really lame and boring avatars.

Why is this????????????????????

although I wouldn't mind a Santa hat on my monkey, but too lazy too learn and I suck at animation gif's to do it, if anyone wants to do it feel free
