I know its something to do with regestry I think . But I'd like to change the windows startup screen from the boring windowsME and the rainbow progress bar

Can you even add music to the start up?

Just call the file LOGO.SYS, and place it in the root directory of your boot drive (usually C:&#092. No file replacing like logos.sys; the default logo, imbedded in IO.SYS, is used if no LOGO.SYS file is found. A logo has to be 320 x 400

Open your msdos.sys and edit some lines like logo=0.

I'm just curious to know what music you want to listen to while ME is loading?

BTW, be aware that you might end up with an unbootable system if you mess with the boot screen. It's really not worth it.

Especially true in winME. The system restore and registry protection crap may not like you messing with things like that at all.

Forget about the start up music. It's very irritating.
