Is it every single file you preview or just the odd one here and there,you might have some fakes there giving you the trouble.

play in with Windows Media Player, it will play all different types of files.

i think the reason it doesnt play is cuz of something obvious..... "AVI preview

AVI Preview can only preview AVI and MPEG-1.
Get VideoLAN. That can preview more filetypes.
