Pcmcia Writer

im wanting to get a cd writer for my laptop. i was gonna get a normal internal ide, and put it in a usb external caddy, but with usb1.1 it will only write at 2/4x which is just crap, so i thought about pcmcia. i can get a 5.25 caddy with pcmcia connection for about £80 all in including a writer, which is what a usb writer cost anyway

so i was wondering what kinda speeds i should get using the pcmcia connection
