PROTOOLS!!!!!
Here are a few tips that I have discovered.
If you are going to record an electric guitar, MIC THE AMP, DO NOT GO DIRECT!!!
Also, if recording an electric guitar, turn off your monitor, it usually adds buzz
If recording a wind instrument, mic above the instruments where the wholes are. You won't get the 'air' sound
If you are recording and acoustic guitar, keep the mic at least a foot away, or else you may get over powering, muffled sounds out of the low E string. (This is with a nylon string, don't know about metal strings)
Life should come with backround music
