Thread: Deus Ex - Invisible War

1. #1
Picked up a copy of Deus Ex 2 today and during install (at about 99/100%) a message box basically says " the un-install file in cab3 does not match this one". I had a look at disk 2 and strangely there was a shortcut to the un-install file as well as cab 3/readme/deviance etc.

Anyone else got a working copy ? (Just so I know it's out there and working, I'll get a replacement np tomorrow)

Dodgy Disk ?
Not properly hacked/cracked/burned yet ?

Edit: You can ignore the file then run the game, but the game crashes (not to the desktop like a graphic issue) after you launch the new game screen .
After a reboot then launching, a DOS window opens saying "Not enough memory to run the program", I have 1GB of Ram

I got it installed but it runs very jerky on my ti 4200 and 256 RAM. even with all video settings on low.

The memory it could be referring to is virtual memory. right click on my computer , properties , advanced, performance, settings, advanced , virtual memory.

Thanx anyway GMT, but I'm 100% sure it's not a memory problem

I ran the demo np (Ti 4600).
My pagefile/vm is set at just over 1 1/2 GB, which is more than enough.

If there were no errors during the install and no other games would run (COD/H&D2 etc) then I would assume it to be a graphics/system/driver associated problem.

what are your video settings at. i turned everything down to low, and the frame rate is still pitifully slow

I found the demo to be slightly laggy at 1024 x 768 and above, but ok with the res down at 800 x 600 32 bit. Personally I think it's ridiculous I have to run it at 800 x 600 with an Athlon 2800/Abit NF7s/Ti 4600/1GBpc 3200 400MHz DDR ram. It wont stop me playing Deus Ex though as I thought the first one was excellent.

I dont suppose anyone who has Deus Ex -Invisible War - Disk 2 could list the 4 files that are on the disk so I can make a comparison ? I'm sure the corrupt file is the "uninstall Deus Ex shortcut". It's a small file.
