Been meaning to do this forever.

Off the top of my head:

    Paul Rodgers

    Mickey Thomas

    James Dewar

    Steve Perry

    David Coverdale

    Burton Cummings

    Freddie Mercury

    Robert Plant

Trent Reznor - The Downward Spiral in particular earned its permanent place in my album collection.

    Uh... Kevin Cronin?

Sure - actually partied with Cronin and Richrath back in the '70s; they used to play the state fair in my home town, like five years running.

Partied with the Talking Heads, too - Jerry Harrison was the best friend of a guy I worked with; he was from Milwaukee, we went to The Red Rooster with them on his birthday..

David Byrne didn't say a word all night, and Tina Weymouth wouldn't shut-up...

Freddie kinda deserves a category all to himself.

Ian Gillan, Ronnie Dio and Bruce Dickinson.

Also Bowie, Chris Cornell, Roger Daltrey and Seb Bach.
    Respect my lack of authority.

Jimmy Hendrix. His soulful bluesy voice matches his soulful bluesy playing.

And yes, Idol. Chris fucking Cornell. Amazing singer. I also think Layne Staley and Axl Rose deserve to be mentioned.
