I don't really care much for the Lakers, so it's no biggie to me. But yeah that price tag didn't surprise me at all. They're THE L.A. team and have always been and always will be I'm sure. And what Magic Johnson paid for his share of the Dodgers, a multiple billion buy in for the Lakers isn't surprising at all

The Buss family's decision to sell a majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to Mark Walter for $10 billion marks a significant shift in the NBA's landscape. Walter, already a part-owner, now holds 66% through his firm TWG Global, while the Buss family retains a 15% stake. This valuation surpasses previous records, reflecting the Lakers' enduring global appeal. Walter's extensive sports portfolio, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chelsea FC, suggests a strategic vision for the Lakers' future. However, the sale has stirred mixed reactions, notably from former star Shaquille O’Neal, who expressed disappointment over being excluded from the process.
