Are you sure it's MPEG layer 3 ? Because that's MP3, which is just audio.
I think you mean MPEG layer 2, which is also known as SVCD.
If the file is 800 MB or smaller, then you can burn it on a normal 80 minute CD-R (700 MB data).
Make sure you burn it in SVCD format, otherwise it won't fit.
oops, your right, it was the audio info i was looking at. it is a dvd screener file.... which is?????????
btw, the arse in your avatar is magnificent lol
does it matter if i convert it to vcd, or does it have to be svcd? sorry to be a pain as i am just learning this stuff
check out http://vcdhelp.com for all your video questions
they offer tons of tutorials that have step by step instructions on everything from converting video and audio file types, authoring vcd, svcd, and dvd, editing video..and much more.
if its an mpeg and its to large to fit on disk convert it to divx4 or xvid
using flaskmpeg if it's not an mpeg you will have to use TMPGEnc to convert it to vcd
or svcd i personally would choose vcd, smaller file.
Depends if you want make a VCD or just save it to disk. If you plan on watching the movie on a DVD player, then make the SVCD. If you just want to save it on a CD, then convert it to divx and burn it.
thx for your help guys ok, i used nero and converted it to SVCD, it is nearly perfect........the only imperfection is that it came out upside down.. ahhhhhhh
also, how comes it fits on my cd as it is still over 800 meg?
oh btw, this file is an xvid, is this why it came out upside down?
i am posting here as i cannot post for 3 days over at vcd help.com
