How can I save my desktop settings so that if I had to reinstall my OS or revert my hard drive I would still be able to retrieve the same colors, patterns, sizes, and and icons on my desktop and in my start menu? I run windows 98SE.

Changed SPAN settings in sig a YEAR after it was removed
I think if you do a upgrade install, all of yoursettings are saved, but its always better to do a clean format install
