    Hi

my laptop seems to play all MPEG's I throw at it fine.. but when I try and play a AVI the picture is slow and is out of line by about 5 secs with the sound.

anyone know why or how I can fix it.
also if i converted a movie to a mpeg format would that work?

    thanks B)
I wasn't going to buy it in the first place, so me downloading it for free isn't losing them any money.

the problem might be that the .avi is a divx - the buggers have high CPU usage, try rebooting then watching

Yeah use tmgenc when you actually WANT to encode.

AcID ZeR0 just wants to watch an avi file he never said he wants to encode his avi files to mpeg. Therefore your answer was maybe right but completely out of context
