Thanks i have been looking for this issue.
MetroStars
1.Once you copied it into notepad
2.save as
3.thumbmpeg.reg
(and in the box undrerneath called "save as type" -clik on it it and mark it to "All Files")
3b.if you dont manage that just change the extension of the mpeg.TXT to mpeg.REG
4.close notepad -find the mpeg.reg file-rightclik -Merge-yes-ok.
you can delete the file or keep it till next time-it screws up.
you need to do this for all thumbnail extensions which dont work- so change the extension marked in red below - to - .jpeg\.tif\.bmp\.gif\-avi etc - save and merge for each.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mpeg\ShellEx]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mpeg\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
