If you want to burn it to DVDs or VCDs, then I suggest the MPEG formats since they can be used with vcds and dvds. A good converter to convert files to mpeg format is : Mainconcept MPEG Encoder. Its faster than TMPGENC. (Just my opinion.)

don't waste your time unless you want to play it on your stand alone dvd player and your tv

http://www.videolan.org will play anything without any codec's as it has its own codec's to render movies

i u have the space, use the huffyuv codec, it's lossless. meaning you can convert to/from it without losing anything(nearly anything) unlike regular(lossy) codecs, which throw away some of the video data when it compresses the file.

    huffyuv, tink about it.
