I just received this great moving 'Bender' avatar from Dwightfry (thanks for that).

Problem is when I copy it, WIN98 only allows a .bmp extension, so it's not moving.
Does anyone have an idea how I can change it into a .gif extension?

BTW: I'm using Dwightfry's URL for it now, so don't tell me it's working...

When you view a web page, the web page and all its components are downloaded onto your computer.
They are stored in special folder call "Temporary Internet Files".

Which is why when you first view a page, it may be slow to view at first because you may have to download all the pieces. When you view it later on, or do back page, it's quicker because you've already downloaded the pieces.

If you can see your animated gif, then it's in your temporary internet files directory.
If you had XP I could tell you exactly where to find your temporary internet files.
But on Win98 I guess it's on the C: drive probably in C:\\Windows.
    I can't remember if it's a hidden directory.

The gif is 30 Kb in size.

    I'll have a look now.

Sorry for my first post as I did not read the problem correctly.

Bender can you see the animated gif on this site? Richt click on it and select 'save picture as' and at the bottom of the save window click on the small down arrow and choose .gif and then save it.

You have to make sure the gif is moving.

Otherwise, the gif hasn't finished downloading.

If you right-click the gif and don't get the SAVE PICTURE AS, it hasn't finished downloading.
What you will get is the COPY option, which will only give you .bmp when you paste.

Wait until the gif has finished downloading, right-click and select the SAVE PICTUE AS option.
    Select .gif.

You could scavenge the pic from your temporary internet files. (C:\Windows), which is what I did for the TRX pics. But it's not worth it for such a small gif.

Dont listen to these people, to change a .bmp to a gif, you dont need no freaking photo software, all you need is Microshaft Paint, click the .BMP goto edit, when paint opens, goto save file as , save it to a .gif
