My landlady, who I lodge with, has a Dachshund (sausage dog) which is getting on a bit in years. Now the poor ting likes to folllow its owner around the house and gets very upset when he can't climb up the stairs to get to her.

Now I'm wondering if anyone knows if they make dog stairlifts (like old people have), I reckon you could easily train a dog to operate one and that would solve the problem. (And stop the damn thing barking until someone carries him up the stairs...)

    Any ideas?

you could try building a smaller set of steps next to the stairs that are the right size for the dog to use

True-in the case of Hot Dogs
there is an Aerobics Video starring the sexy and stunning - "Desire"

Although it has the side effect of dogs tending to Lick themselves too much...

how about a winch or pulley system?
On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
