OK guys im really starting to think that my adsl modem is the problem with all my online shit going wrong.

I have no firewall, but is it possible that my adsl modem has a built in firewall ???

So far i have tried playing nfs underground, download some things even tried to download that java script and doesnt work. (list can go on and on and on)

Oh yeah and the street fighter online keeps saying that i have to check my IP settings when someone tries to challenge me.

I have searched google and i cant find anything that can help me out.

I NEED TO SOLVE THIS BEOFRE I GO CRAZY AND BREAK STUFF!!!

So if their is a way to check if my modem is blocking things with a program or something ??

Fuck, 56k was laggy but atleast i could actuall do shit.

just for the record im running windows xp.

If you're using a router, you will need to forward certain ports to your computer.

Otherwise try disabling your WinXP firewall if it's active and use a real firewall

    Thanks for replying man.

I dont have a firewall but i was searching through google and i found a lot of pages about configuring the adsl modem through the web browser (and to open ports )

Im just looking for the instruction book for the modem.

ADSL is so new to me and i have to work it out. Im sure this is why im having so much problems.

No doubt, they should be able to help. Just be sure to have all of your facts and explain all of your symptoms clearly. Otherwise they may be of no help...

Also, do you have a static or dynamic IP?

If your modem is assigned a new IP address everytime you logon("dynamic"), that can cause symptoms similar to yours.

I have a Billion BIPAC-7100 Pro modem and i have a dynamic IP.

I had a look in the manual and it told me to go to 192.168. blah blah and it brang me to a site that i can configure the modem.

I clicked on Virtual Server and this is what it has.

Is this where i can open ports from ??

The ports i need opened are,

    TCP: 10900-10999
    UDP: 3658, 3659

I rang my ISP but they are closed on sundays

I dont want to go ahead and do what i think has to be done i have to be sure because i dont want to stuff it up
