Thread: How To Resume Partially Downloaded Files?

  1. #1
ive got a few "FSincomplete..." files from a friends computer. These are incomplete files from another p2p network. After "FSincomplete..." the filename is present so i searched for it in kazaalite, downloaded about 1kb ,placed the original incomplete file in incoming files directory, renamed it to "download...." ,the name of the 1kb file and started downloading, but then it wasnt in my list(traffic). How do i finish downloading them using kazaalite?
so basically im asking how to finish downloading a file from another p2p network using kazaalite?

unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to restart downloads which originally came from a different network - the networks are not compatible, they work in different ways.

Yeah, plus the actual file sizes would have to be the same.

ok so which network creates these files (FSincomplete..) and which program can i use 2 access this network?

I've never even heard of FSincomplete before. Surely you must remember what program you were using round your friend's house?

these incomplete files with the _incomplete suffix are from limewire, I believe. anyway, you can't continue downloading them on kazaa. you can't jump from network to network. the only "jump" works from irc/ftp to edonkey using ftp2edonkey programme, which indeed works, tried myself. but you can't continue downloading on ft using incomplete files from other networks. you have to restart the download.

ok heres the thing, there is no "friend", i found this cd in my school library, probably someone left it,so i dont know the network he was using. It had this incomplete movie file(porn ;-) ).now i checked the filesize on kazaa , the file has only about 10mb of downloading left. ive got a dialup connection so i cant redownload the whole thing again it would take me months and a huuuuge phone bill along with it.

If i could just get the network, which names its incomplete files beginning with"FSincomplete..." (replace the ... with the original filename preceded by a . ) I would be able to resume its download and enjoy.

Please tell me which network saves its incomplete files beginning with"FSincomplete..." (replace the ... with the original filename preceded by a . ) .Your help would be really appreciated.

If you can't find the network to use, you should know that KCF can let you resume your downloads on Kazaa (assuming they're available on it). PM or email me if you'd want to try it, since it's not too obvious how to do.

Try Shareaza. Imcomplete files are named incomplete. However, not sure it will be that easy, but worth a shot.
