The first words written in Scott M. Peck's The Road Less Travelled is " Life is hard."
Or 'difficult' I don't remember. But you get the message.
Expect life to be made up of a series of losses. It's not that we have losses so much as what we do with those losses. Doesn't mean we can't have joy, experience love or true human ecstasy here on earth. http://leb.net/gibran/
In our country we suck at handling loss. With any loss you grieve and a period of time experiencing that is necessary.
In other countries humans are introduced to death at a much earlier age.
When we realize we are not "a unique and beautiful snowflake" and that we will someday die (hopefully NOT today) then we can grasp how precious and fragile life really is.
Cheer up it's taken me to 35 to actually feel I can be of help to my brothers and sisters.
Oh, also check your head for a nasty human legacy of disease called Alcoholism/Addiction.

Peace.
A little of topic, free2bp2p, but who or what does your avatar represent...It looks like a Tibetan Lama too me.... [/b][/quote]
Yes,

It's a shrunk version of post #665978 to fit the forums rules for avatars.

It's a David Grey. Google--> Images--> David Grey.

I have a better puny avatar of the Dalai Lama I will fix now.

He and Khalil Gibran http://leb.net/gibran/ influenced me very much since my 30's.
'The Prophet' by K.G. is his most widely read.

Ever seen a live sand 'mandala' being made?

Here is a glimpse:

Sensual Gardening/ Yogi,

I don't understand the reference, "Have a straw". I am just warming up to Buddhism. First with the Buddhist principle not to believe all that we read or hear without passing through our hearts first. It's a great alternative to the compulsion of fundamentalism.

Yoga rocks- Namaste.

Here is my own profound saying, (although already said by many)

"Shit happens! Live with IT!"

Now if you believe in that, even the worst would be usual for you

@free2bp2p or Yogi?

You are doing Yoga as well? Have you done the exercise to laugh for 5 mins ?

I think it does for most of us who has to endure much pain and hardship throught their entire life till death due they part from this boring world...
if only the world realize this and care more we would all be living happier.
we need higher quality of life, smarter people, plus end this meaningless war on oil, gas and territory control. btw, i am not going to work my entire life so someone big like microsoft can get rich on their fat lazy ass doing nothing but selling overpriced software, much of it is scam and does nothing to improve our lifestyle. This need to change or I will raise hell.

That sounds great,

Isn't tantra a sexual connotation? You guys didn't get freaky or anything like that?
No disrespect. I don't believe I could be initiated into much of anything. I have a hard time with 'authoritay' and subordination as it is. But I believe I am obedient to alot of things- principles, people (when freinds tell me something I don't want to hear), and practicing these things. I especially liked the symbolic gesture of plucking the string full of sand during the ceremony. It's in the basic story of Buddha and I am a musician so.. anyway I have to answer an email that came in from an old high school buddy.

Much love,
