  1. #1
My sister asked me to buy her new speakers for her laptop for christmas. She wants the 4 speaker and sub set from logitech but i think i can find something better. She is gonna use it as her primary music player in her college apartment. Does any one have any suggestions?

I have those speakers for my computer and like the sound but if you're going to use it as your main sound system why not just hoook it up to a stereo.

see this thred to see how to hook it up:

Well, if it were mine, i would, but its for my sister, and she wants speakers and not a stereo (i asked her) and i cant afford to buy her a new stereo anyways.

Altec Lansing makes a nice 3 way system and it's under $40-50.

It looks cool too. If she's like most women, that's all she'll care about anyways.

Getting a set in which the subwoofer is made of wood will sound the best.

This will cost her more expensive.

not true. there are alot of PC subwoofers with cabinets made of wood.
even cheap ones. the satellites may be plastic though, it's just a feature to look for when at the store.

1 cheap, Altec Lansing set, with a sub made of wood.

Another Altec Lansing set, with a sub made of wood

Another (a bit pricier but still under $100), Altec Lansing speaker set with a sub in a wood cabinet.

Shop around, I'm sure the above can be had for cheaper then what the mfg sells them for..

    peace.
