Merry Christmas Duffman, that's a nice HDD that Santa is giving you.
When you partition it, Partition Magic will automatically assign a drive letter for you.
The whole process is actually very easy, the program will show you what your HDD will look like before you have it execute. You can create as many partitions at one time as you like. Mine was done in one shot...

You may want to practice on your old drive first if you have any doubts...

XP also has a built in formatting and partioning tool. As for how does it affect thing I kinda think of it like the drawers in a cabinet where the disk is the cabinet and the partions are like drawers within it.They fill the same space as the cabinet but are split up in order to organise things a little easier, the computer sees them as seperate drives and as clocker said the next available drive letter will be assigned to each partionion. Does this help?

Wow!
Christmas comes early to ClockerWorld.
Thanks, Balamm.
A question.
If the end result is the same ( and I'm assuming that one partition is much like any other- shoot me if I'm wrong...) what makes your app better than the other "crap"?

@DWk, those removable disks are my 6in1 smart media reader.

The supported file types and thoroughness is what makes it better. If you've ever tried to partition an HP with windows ME on it, then you will appreciate this. If you've ever tried to install OS2/warp 4, then you'll appreciate this. I could go on but just give it a look.

There aren't many apps that will run once they discover my OS is win2k advanced server. They make their excuses and close. This one does it all.
