so how the hell are you partitioning? from windows? tell me it aint so clocker...

I can't recall which OS uses the smaller block size but I do notice a lot higher fragmentation of the master file table in XP. 3% seems to be pretty normal.

I don't see that in win2k at all, just a few logfiles that won't clean up.

Unless someone has another suggestion, I'd guess it's a result of the different ntfs formats.
