1. #1
What speed do you get? and Where are you?

With My 512/256 ADSL on average I get about 458kb download speed which I think is quite good!! With a top speed ever of 461kb!

I'm in the UK

If you wanna try a test try this site

Cheers

I think mine is 1.5Mbit. I never get constant speeds over 200KB/sec, it always starts off at around 400KB then drops down from 100-175KB/sec.

I don't believe you're getting those sort of speeds, unless you have read it wrong. I have a 1MB connection which includes a 256k/b upload.

Maximum speeds I am capable of are:

Download: 125kb/sec
Upload: 30kb/sec

Technically, you should have roughly half of what I get, thus you should see:

Download: 62.5kb/sec
Upload: 15kb/sec

I think you may have meant to say 45.8kb/sec, which if so is pretty bad for what you're paying for. Hope this makes sense. Don't want to see people celebrating when infact they're getting ripped off

1Mb/sec = (1024/8) = 128kB/sec

1024 kilobots / second = 128 kilobytes / second

most services are quoted in kilobits per second (or megabits), however, download speeds you'll see are generally in kilobytes per second

I know what your saying, but what is your d/l speed in kbps?

I must admit it is a bit confusing about KB'S and kb's but I'm quoting just what I read from the speed test sites so thats how we should compare with each other, if we all use kbps then we'll know!

As for my previous post, I think the majority knew I meant kB/Sec

Sorry if I confused anyone there... wasn't intentional. Here are my results from the speed test software located at ADSL Guide. Click here for my personal test.

ISP: NTL
DOWNLOAD: 109.9 kB/Sec
UPLOAD: 30.1 kB/Sec

I must stress at this point, I was running Live Update but it hasn't seem to altered the findings too much... As I mentioned before, I usually get 125kB/Sec Vs 30kB/Sec

Hope this helps anyone,

Samurai

I have 512/128 adsl, I get about 400kb/s downstream and 90kb/s upstream.

My download speed top is 72kb/s but on average about 51kb/s my uploads are about 15kb/s.

im in australia.

BTW guys the first guy that said his speed was 458kb/s or what ever he was talking about Downstream not Download thats why he said test it here!!
