You know what i noticed.

In the trailer, gandalf and shadowfax rear up at minas tirth, when i a dark rider shows up, at the white tree courtyard. Yet in the film, this part didnt show up?

must be on the extended version maybe?

I saw it last night. I am disappointed. not becuase of the movie, but because I am still recovering from the flu, so could bearly focus on the screen for the most part. my eyes were watterying, nose running and kept on having to go out the door to have a coughing fit and it was really painful to look at the screen as the lights were too bright. what i saw was bloody amazing however. I missed a lot of vital stuff I hear. oh well, will go see it agian when recovered i guess. can't believe i've finally seen how it concludes! about time!

    ****spoilers are now below*****

The end wasn't the best, but as someone said I guess it was to get everything in the book. It just seemed to show every single person having a "happy ending" One thing that confused me (mainly becuase I probably missed 90% of movie) was Froddo and Bilbo both going on that boat to die or reach immortality? I managed to hear the part when he was writting the book "lord of the rings" in his house that his injury still caused too many problems. then missed a part, and he went on the boat. anyone know?

I loved the ending man, (glad they didnt put in Scoring of the Shire, Im one of the few who didnt like it in the book)

    anyway

    SPOILERS

They go off to Valinor, is where the Valar lived (kind of like Gods, Morgoth was a god turned evil and Sauron was his servants that served under him) anyway, Only Elves can directly go to Valinor as they are the First Born, Frodo and Bilbo can not go on the shores of Valinor itself but they can stay on a island off the shore of Valinor. And they do die, just that they die more peacefully than the others
Seen it 2day, going back 2marrow

It was just about as I feared. Too much was cut out because of some odd choice to put Shelob in the third movie.

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"

It will be in the extended version, which means the scouring will be. Add to that the extra speeches and various other little scenes, I bet the extended version will clock in around 4, 4.5 hours.
