ruffbuffy: Windows ME is a upgraded version of Windows 98. When support for Windows 98 is added it will work on Windows ME as well.

(Technical info, don't ask what it means) The reason is probably because it sets up its own exception handler using the temp stack and an exception occurs. Windows only seems to support setting up exception handlers on the real stack. It crashes when loading one DLL (ends in OSS.DLL, and could be spyware, or the DLL after it).
WHY?!? Why on earth are you still using Windows ME? It has absolutely no stability. You look at it funny and it crashes. I STRONGLY suggest you upgrade to Windows 2000 at least. It can be done without you losing your data.
Worst operating system of all time. Biggest mistake M$ ever made.
