Sometimes it's a shock, sometimes it's a car crash where people watch instead to jump out of the car and help etc.

That&#39;s the topic please...

Shutting down Kazaa would probably be a good start...I really don&#39;t think you can do much about it. People who want to share these images will always find a way to do it on Kazaa or any network, just like the RIAA can&#39;t stop P2P networks we can&#39;t stop people abusing our network for their own nefarious aims.

I agree totally, but as it is now, NOTHING is being done to even FILTER the problem out.

I don&#39;t want kazaa to die, I love kazaa, use it all the time. But the seriousness of the subject matter beginning to float around here, and the massive file renaming, turning it from a nice sharing program into a STINKY SWAMP...

I&#39;d like to see Kazaa introduce better filters into their search engine...

I just remembered that there IS a "Block List" in the Kazaa and K-Lite options under the "filter" tab...

That looks like a nice way to protect yourself, unfortunately, if we post the WORDS to add to your personal block list, that would just generate people seeking out those files to have a look for themselves, and watch it to the end in shock.


Kind of a Catch 22... Can&#39;t help others block it without mentioning the file name...

Unfortunately this filter could be abused by Sharman and his cronies, we&#39;d lose the child porn but he&#39;d probably make a deal with the RIAA to help block other files that we do want.

A 10 second video clip is about 1MB if that, so what were you trying to download that was soooo important? Your first post was actually quite rude, although I understand you were upset.

PLEASE, if you find Child Porn, message the user you got it from on about how much of TOTAL SCUM they are&#33;

Are you sure this person also realised what they had on their HDD? Maybe he/she also downloaded this amazing video that you wanted (I&#39;m assuming you knew it was a video clip before you started the transfer) and hadn&#39;t had a chance to view it.

So if I was on Kazaa right now and came across these files and I downloaded it from you, would you like me to send hateful messages to you telling you what TOTAL SCUM I think you are. Of course not. Because that would be STUPID.

The scourge of child porn will take much more than this to fix completely. As a file-sharing program, there is never going to be a concrete way of staying safe.

My advice. If you d/l something like this, delete it. The ones who eventually keep this sort of sh*t will eventually get caught one day, either by taking their PC back to the store to get maintenance or whatever. Remember Gary Glitter?

I&#39;ve been a long time user of Kazaa, I love it. I&#39;ve found music and video that I had been looking for, for a very long time. It&#39;s a staple of mine for use when I use the internet. As we all agree I&#39;m sure.

However, this is now putting a serious BAD MARK, if not a SPOTTED LIVER given to Kazaa&#33;

I ask for any ideas how we can protect ourselves, and others from distributing Chld Porn on Kazaa, we need to protect the poor children in those videos as much as ourselves, because in most cases, they have no idea of what they&#39;re doing...

Also, if you find a file of that nature, DO NOT POST THE NAME OF IT HERE&#33; It will only cause searching for it and SHARING OF IT&#33;

The surprise video I had recieved now has produced an image that won&#39;t go away from my mind for a very long time, I even thought about giving up on Kazaa totally, and I don&#39;t want to, because it&#39;s a great program&#33;

I ask that we all begin a PETITION. A petition to ask Kazaa to possibly add a secretive BANNED WORDS list to their search engine, so that unbeknownst to the Child Pronographer, the search words he uses to get himself/herself Child Porn show NO RESULTS...

It may only cause file renaming, but it&#39;s a start to clearing that subject OUT from Kazaa&#33; (Simple words I used after investigating found more results than I&#39;d like to mention, it was HORRIBLE).

A simple banning of those simple words in the search engine will HELP, not annoy&#33;

What say you? How can we help protect ourselves with Kazaa? And protect those poor children?
