you cant stop the people from sharing it it sounds wrong but they got the same right to share as we do of sharing music remember its not illegal around the world so it may be moraly wrong but not illegal someplaces

My advice. If you d/l something like this, delete it. The ones who eventually keep this sort of sh*t will eventually get caught one day, either by taking their PC back to the store to get maintenance or whatever.

APC: I share ur concern, but would have to agree with above quote. There is no filter that would be effective short of shutting down FT. And even then the porn folk would just move to another network.

Besides u can't effectively combat the problem of child porn w/o addressing porn in general. It logically follows that all types of folks r going to indulge in twisted sub-fantasys now that so many American view the porn industry as "respectable". It's hard to tell someone with consistancy that they can ogle a naked 18 yr old, but not a 16 yr old. And if a 16 yr. old is ok, why not a 14 yr. old? etc.

After some investigating, I am absolutely APPALLED at how EASILY and READILY Child Porn is available on Kazaa and K-Lite.

I've been a long time user of Kazaa, I love it. I've found music and video that I had been looking for, for a very long time. It's a staple of mine for use when I use the internet. As we all agree I'm sure.

However, this is now putting a serious BAD MARK, if not a SPOTTED LIVER given to Kazaa!

I ask for any ideas how we can protect ourselves, and others from distributing Chld Porn on Kazaa, we need to protect the poor children in those videos as much as ourselves, because in most cases, they have no idea of what they're doing...

PLEASE, if you find Child Porn, message the user you got it from on about how much of TOTAL SCUM they are!

Also, if you find a file of that nature, DO NOT POST THE NAME OF IT HERE! It will only cause searching for it and SHARING OF IT!

The surprise video I had recieved now has produced an image that won't go away from my mind for a very long time, I even thought about giving up on Kazaa totally, and I don't want to, because it's a great program!

I ask that we all begin a PETITION. A petition to ask Kazaa to possibly add a secretive BANNED WORDS list to their search engine, so that unbeknownst to the Child Pronographer, the search words he uses to get himself/herself Child Porn show NO RESULTS...

It may only cause file renaming, but it's a start to clearing that subject OUT from Kazaa! (Simple words I used after investigating found more results than I'd like to mention, it was HORRIBLE).

A simple banning of those simple words in the search engine will HELP, not annoy!

What say you? How can we help protect ourselves with Kazaa? And protect those poor children?

Although these sick persons are UNFORTUNATELY - that is the most sad and cruel part - also just humans., I hate all the Porns and Child Pornography guys beating up the children.

I do not know if there could something be done about it which works fine. If you think you found someone who treats people while beating them and so on just inform the police that you are concerned about it.

But as in germany the police try to find and uncover all these crimes they also tried to offer some filters. Try one of these Filters.

Probably it helps - Kazaa has also some filters not to show VIruses and Porns -
but any Filter could be tricked out unfortunately. So hte best Filter would be
your responsibility - If you are seeing some suspicious material use your responsibility.

what you can do is add "XXX" to the Filter - many Porns - Legal and Illegal are using XXX as Keyword in the internet. I do not know why.

files with trigger words, eg ray@gold, preteen etc.

Would that be possible? Even if it was (I know nothing about computers..) this would be open to abuse and we would find ourselves being excluded from sharing the files that we really do want to share...

The trigger list could be an encrypted list built into kazaa.

I don&#39;t think it would be hacked to restrict filesharing.
Most people become supernodes to allow the sharing of files.

The main danger would be if the RIAA hacked it&#33;

I was thinking along the lines of dc++; the supernodes being similar to dc++ hubs.
Many dc++ hubs use scripts to check out the files that it&#39;s members are sharing,
looking for trigger words.

That&#39;s one of the reasons why the dc++ hub system is "cleaner"
than the fasttrack system.

That&#39;s a very good idea, I went to work and I thought about this all day, quite frankly, yeah, use common sense on what you want to DL, but my concern is jsut somone naming a file for something a kid would want, like Ninja Turtles maybe and instead it being what I saw, THAT&#39;S what I&#39;m worried about&#33; The renaming of files...


Perhaps we could begin generating a list of words here that people could add to their own block list filter in Kazaa, if they&#39;re worried about certain renamed files appearing?
