Thread: After Changing My Motherboard...

  1. #1
    Hi
After sending my pc of for repair they corrected that my motherboard was faulty and replaced it along with the memory.
Now when I play games (I've got a radeon 8500, old I know but it gets me by) all the games I used to play fine freeze or lag and the VPU keeps crashing.

I've tried diffrent drivers and stuff does anyone else have any suggestions?

    P.S: It's not OC either.

    What board do you have?
Have you visited BIOS and determined that your video is set to use a AGP card instead of PCI?
Does Device Manager show any conflicts/problems?

Is the new memory compatible with the motherboard? (might sound stupid but happened to my mate a while ago)

i would say its a good chance its the memory...it could be faulty, it could be incompatible, could be it just needs burned in or could even be its being pushed too hard

    Check the temperatures.

I have seen an improperly installed CPU cooler have similar results.

I'm not saying that for sure it's the CPU cooler but a good place to start is to see the temps.

Hi the temps are 42 c
The motherboard/memory was installed by trained professionalls (TIME computers) and it's been inspected before getting sent back so I doubt it's that.

But i'll ring them up monday and see what they say though.

It appears they are the same person. Don't you hate that?

It makes you think there are people who actually are several names...now I don't trust anyone anymore and I need to see my therapist...
