well i got my upload set to 128, which gives around 8kb to 16kb out. sometimes a little more. i have never changed it since i set it way back in june and i do fine.
I'm on 150K (slow cable) internet, and have the upload bandwidth set at 32, which gives out 4KB per second.
2 upload slots @ 2KB per second each.
