By many accounts, I'm a "leech." I use a program called "Kazaa Scanner" to instantly move all of my downloads to the temp folder, which is unshared. To some people, this is leeching, despite the fact that I'm sharing nearly 100GB of files.

I have a 120GB external hard drive, and I reformat/reinstall all the time. So naturally I keep all my audio, video, document, images, and archived (read: downloaded) programs on the external drive. 90% or more of it is shared. I of course don't share my personal documents and family photos. I also don't share music. Cuz I don't think anyone here is gonna pay my rent or bills if I get sued.

However, when I'm on Kazaa Lite, I have 4 upload slots, and they're always going. I have ~100GB in movies, music videos, video clips, images, documents, and archived software and operating systems.

So do you call someone a leech if they don't share their downloads if they share gigabytes of verified, tested, and used stuff, and filter their downloads into those folders as they have time to verify them? I think it's a smart way to eliminate fakes on the network. Sharman dug their own grave forcing downloads to be shared with limited recourse against fakes. If you try to delete the file and someone is downloading it from you, Windows won't let you delete it, rename it, or change the Meta data to label it as a fake.

    1. Any of various chiefly moronic filesucking, bandwiidth hogging, and carnivorous 'users' of the class assholenea takeallus, of which one species (homo forumis) is generally found to suck in forums too.

    2. One that preys on or clings to another; a parasite, fileleech.

    3. One on who existance depends on the good deeds of others, but never themselves.

    4. One who does not support the community.

slx laughs as he leeches off P2P. 'What fools they are!', he thinks to himself, 'P2P my ass, P2ME I say! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!'

    don't think you quifility

Nope, you are just human ;) I cannot expect of everyone sharing unfortunately that is why I am letting also "Leechers" downloading but I am glad to see if ppl are sharing...

But to the personal stuff: I would not share some really really private stuff some times. That is ok.

I also have much more files on my 160CDs (60GBs) which is all listed in my catalogs - for space reasons on my HD I cannot share all my stuff at once...

But if anyone wants I can send the catalog files and you can search through my stuff....

In my stuff there also personal files, so some stuff I would not share some times.
    But there is many useful...

Jeez, Dark Reality, I sure hope you're not considered a leech because I would be one too. Like you, I verify files and I only keep those that are properly named and of good ( at a minimum ) quality. Sadly, my pc doesn't have much storage space but I hope to rectify that after Xmas when prices drop. If it weren't for those that shared files, there wouldn't be much of a network.

Why share fakes if everyone verified their files we wouldn't have so many fake files and improperly named files floating around.I too only share verified stuff.

Ironically you say you don't share music, however you share music videos. The videos are still copyrighted material and the RIAA/MPAA could still sue you.

Doesn't sound like leeching to me.
If everybody verified their files before sharing them, there would not be a screechy mp3 problem.
