How To Recover A .dat File Accidentally Cancelled

My computer crashed and KazaA deleted a 500MB+ file that was being dowloaded. I had it highlighted while accidently pressing the Abort/Stop button. I was able to locate the file and place it back at the Downloads folder. However, every time I start KazaA it deletes it again. This happened a few times. I think an intruction is placed in the file to notify Kazaa that it was cancelled so when it starts back again and finds it there, KazaA deletes it. Can anyone tell me how can I fix this, PLEASE!
