I do disk-at-once which requires no formatting -- formatting a CD is ONLY neccessary for CD-RW disks and packet-based copies to CD.

To COPY an existing CD, you don't format it at all!

With Nero, I can get 702MB to a CD-R without using overburn and can get 707MB with overburn without having any problems. (When overburning, it's best to burn at LOW speed...)

Wih your Nero-package also comes: Nero Imagedrive
Note : this is not installed automatically;you must do it your self
When you have it installed choose in Nero :select recorder
now you see your hardwarerecorder(s) & nero's imagedrive >select this
(make 1st map e.g. C:/Images)burn your project to this location &
when ready from this location to CD(don't forget choose now hrdwareburner)
    use for avi&mpg_files lospeed 4 or 8x
For your hardware check for possible flashupgrade
For CD's look at db on vcdhelp.org there you
    can see benchmarkresults per manufactorer!

Nero is your best bet. I have burned hundreds of cd's with it and have had no problems with up to 716mb. It will auto it to size for you. Search for Nero in Kazaa and you'll get 5.5.9.14+ serial if you want to try it before you buy it. The serial will work even to get updated to 5.5.10x. B)
