Just proves that you don't understand overclocking.
And you say you wanted to get it to 2800 or 3000 ?

Looking at those posted temps again VB, it occurs to me that if Abu mounted his magical HDD right next to the CPU HSF perhaps it would absorb and dissipate those extra calories.Originally posted by Virtualbody1234@23 December 2003 - 07:12
I thought you said these are your temps.here's my temps (Deg C):
CPU: 34 idle, 44-50 depending on load
HD: 13-19
Mobo: 30 idle, 40 load
Vd card: 23-30 idle, 35-40 running 3dmark03
are those good temps?
wat r ur temps?
any suggestions as to what i should do to lower them?
Once again you come here asking why your computer is hot while it's overclocked.

In fact , kill two birds with one stone and use the HDD as the HS. This would also eliminate the fan ...

those temps i posted were correct b4 i ran doom3. i wasn't expecting this high either. and i didn't change any clock settings b4 i played the game.Originally posted by Virtualbody1234@23 December 2003 - 09:12

y is it so high? all i'm asking is will my cpu fry up when the real games comes out.
and btw, the allowed operating temp for my cpu is 74C.
The temps are ok for a CPU under such heavy load as Doom 3, but the motherboard temp seems to be a bit high.
What is the relative temperature of your room, and how many case fans do you have? 43C is pretty high for a motherboard temp.
Which Program do you recomend to see your Temperatures?Originally posted by _John_Lennon_@23 December 2003 - 18:48

Whats best and whats easiest? (newbie alert!

well. my board is around 40 when i play halo. so i guess it's not that bad. is 40 bad under load?Originally posted by _John_Lennon_@23 December 2003 - 13:48

dude, i have no worries... i have run my intel much hotter thean that... you are AoK anyways yes you are fine with those temps UNDER LOAD tell us if that is your idle... then i will yell at you some... remeber this if with useing any cpu you are below the max rated acceptable temps.. by more than 20 you are ok... (that is my motto, and my test rig stands by it... )
hehehe don't worry too much abu.... your intel will let you know when it is getting too hot... btw what is your cooling set up again for you cpu??
my cpu has a regular stock intel certified hsf. nothing special.Originally posted by SciManAl@23 December 2003 - 16:40

Your previous 'under full load' temps weren't really tested right then.
If you say that Doom3 makes your CPU hotter than testing under full load then that's not full load.
I hope you understand my logic. Yours just dosen't make sense.
What do you use to push your CPU to full load for testing, abu?
Good idea clocker, use that HD as a heatsink.
