    Lol I know...Ok what the hell is this?! Its screwed into the bottom of my HS???



    Can I just unscrew that to get the thermal pad off so I dont have to rub it off??? is that what thats for?

    the screwed on bit is not the pad, it's supposed to be there

    it will most likely be made of a material with higher thermal conductivity than the material for the rest of the heatsink

    Ok...theres a shit load of thermal paste under it (im guessing...its white paste) what the hell do i do?

    Oh...ok well I put it back on its all good now...How do i get the damn thermal pad on so I can put thermal Paste...cuz i need paste not the pad right?

    Your cooler already has a thermal pad. You could use that until you get some Arctic silver.

    Install the CPU, cooler and the RAM into the motherboard before installing the board. It&#39;s easier than after.

    You say that there are 4 supports for the motherboard? I would think that there should be more than 4.

    This is going to be painful.
    Have you no instruction manual for your heatsink?
    It looks stock...what does AMD say to do?

    You are better off assembling the whole thing outside your case, powering her up and making sure she&#39;ll POST before going to the trouble of screwing the whole thing together.

    lol ok. VB the case came with 4 supports but there are more..i think i have 8 supports on there now

    Can someone tell me how to get the thermal pad off seriously? I asked before but people were joking around and I didnt know if they were being serious.

    If it&#39;s a ATX form factor board there should be at least 9 screw holes/standoffs...

    Edit: rub the pad off with your fingernail and then finish cleaning with rubbing alcohol.
