    im talkin about
    when u first install an OS on ya system wot programs
    do u have to install first off (no drivers here ok)
    mine are

    ZoneAlarm 4.x.x.x
    WinRAR
    WinACE (if rar is haven a prob with a file ACE normally works)
    system mechanic 4
    codecs
    IrfanView (the greatest image handler)
    peerguardian (update bad IPs right away)
    MyIE2 (thanx to lamseys site i found this wicked Internet browser)
    AVG anti virus (im getting rid of this one. unstable)
    SoundForge (best audio editor)

    that is my default i must have progs

    i wanna know if u guys have a prog i havent alredy tested to
    replace one of my existing progs on my list

    winrar/zip, 7zip [jus used this recently, is very cool]
    alcohol/nero/daemon tools
    winamp [most sexiest player, as im sure every1 knows]
    stylexp/icon packager [to make my desktop look all prrdy]
    games [like fifa, cs n wot not]

    then all my other nik naks like the p2p proggies, diskeeper, photoshop, dreamweaver, ms office, goldwave n watever else i need.

    pretty long list and im also planning to reformat seeing as me pc if full o junk n im too lazy to clear it up

    -norton antivirus
    -alcohol 120% (like it very much compared with others that i've used)
    -zone alarm (the world out there is too dangerous )
    -bittorrent, overnet, mirc, kazaa lite (well, there's no such thing as overdosed,is there? )
    -powerarchiver (i like to use .cab, greater compression than others...well almost all )
    -winamp (hardcore fan since the day i've mp3s :music1
    -irfanview (i agree with u, fiber)
    -k-lite codec pack (kinda complete to me)
    -windows media 9 series (still waiting/looking for a replacement for this )

    as usual i've office, acrobat, some cool games and etc

    Most have been said but:

    ZoomPlayer for watching movies and VideoLAN for incomplete files and .bins.

    Photoshop for images

    mp3DirectCut for splitting and merging mp3s without the hassle of something like Soundforge

    GSpot for identifying codecs and properties of movies

    VirtualDub for editing movies

    Nero for burning

    has to be the best
    its small too
    with DLable filters NICE
