Here's one of the methods:
If you only have two computers, here is my suggestion...
Put two NICs in one computer.
Put one NIC in other computer.
In the first computer, hook up the cable.
Then use the extra NIC to run it to the second computer.
If using XP, just use the stupid little home networking wizard to set it up in no time flat.
This is far easier, and far less expensive than any router method
And you can also use a hub (or switch) to increase it to multiple computers.

Here's another one:
okay all you got to do bro is hook your cable modem up through USB, then go to bestbuy or whatever and get a crossover cable that you put between the 2 computers. then run the network setup wizard. that is the cheapest and easiest way

if you got a old 133mz POS you can turn it into a router, the only real problem if you had a power outage you would have to wait it to boot in order to get the dhcp info

the cross over cable is the cheapest and easiest solution so long as your rat fink bro keeps his machine switched on
