I'm deciding what I should buy with my xmas money. Does a 56k modem work with PS2 online, especially those good games like Socom or such?

Depends. Most of the good online games (like Socom) are for broadband only.
ps2 network isnt as good as xbox live, although ps2 does have a wide selection of games...ps2 server's are ran off some guys own cable modem..in xbox tho, they are ran off of top-notch servers
the PS2 online ethernet connection can only be run by broadband 56k doesnt have the capacity to handle that stuff
Those who dont learn from the past are doomed to repeat It.
My neighbour plays Everquest on 56k with her PS2.

Only an xbox user could say such a thing...
so...it does work on 56k?
only certain games will work... it will have an icon that said "ONLINE DIAL UP AND BROADBAND" if it doesnt support 56k it will say "ONLINE BROADBAND ONLY"
