I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.

Neither of my computers would boot any of the 5 or so Sp1 integrations I had gotten from KL and eMule/SR. The Sp1a + Ru1 is the latest official build of Windows, so whether or not it's "worth it" depends on if you really want to be running the latest. If that's not important, stick with XP Pro OEM. It won't kill you.
Now what I'm gonna do... one of these days... I'm gonna reformat with the XP Pro Sp1a + Ru1. Connect to Windows Update... get EVERYTHING. Install Office. Update it. Install Norton. Configure it, update it. Install the latest drivers. Update. And so on and so forth. Then I'm gonna install this kickass program called Acronis True Image that will compress my hard drive down to 2 CDs worth of files... it's bootable, and I can recover to a perfectly updated, stable, decked out system in 20 minutes... damn... reinstalling Windows takes at least an hour and that speaks nothing of reformatting, not to mention installing everything...
