i've had to install emule a few times cause of formatting, etc.
    using the edskes version
first install, got a low ID
    second install, no low ID
last install, got a low ID
all installs are with the same settings on my pc
(same f/w settings, same blocklists, same ports open, etc.)
    any suggestions? how to fix?
(yeah, i know theres a faq to read, but not much help)

if it takes emule a long time to load and in that time you want it to connect to, it will sometime give a lowid because of the amount of resources being used.
Try disabling the connect to server when opening emule.

nah, no router, and just updated server list this morning
i'll try disabling the auto connect and see what it does,
but then i'll just have to manually connect right?
i tried that when emule connected me to, say, byte devils,
tried going back to razorback manually cause i was gettin good ID there,
but its the same now pretty much (low ID everywhere)

Check your settings in preferences > server

Use Smart LowID check on connect and safe connect should have a check mark in the box.

Try this server connection test (start eMule first)
    http://www.thedonkeynetwork.com/connection_test

You should get a number in the millions. If you do then try changing servers eMule is connected to.

If you get a low number, like in the hundreds, then try reconfiguring your firewall.

    cool, thanks

    test results
    this really sucks

timeout : timeout on ip **.***.***.*** (6 sec)

this means, that we even did not receive a
RESET signal; maybe due to a 'stealth' firewall

    are you using windows XP?
if so, is the integrated firewall enabled?
