Sorry if this is a repeated thread, but I can't seem to get any results up on the search page.
I'm thinking of going from Windows 2K to XP, but I understood that Microscoff steal information from your computer that prevents upgrades etc. How true is this and is there a fix for it. If there are links to previouse threads please let me know. Thanks in advance folks
no microsoft doesnt "steal" any info
if you are thinking about getting winxp home or pro from kazaa-lite you will have to use a program to change the activation number or else you wont be able to install the sp1 update.
All dealings with Microsoft are pretty annonymous no "stealing" involved. I would recommend buying an upgrade version of XP Pro and be done with it.
