Video Plug In Help.....

I cannot make vegas video 4.0 work because when I try to open a video it says I have to register to get the plugin to support the mpeg file. does anyone know what I am talking about and how do get around this?

Been there, cant get what I need off of the site....it takes me to some bullshit debt consolidation popup every time

I was at a different spot when I tried, however I downloaded that and it was exactly what I already have installed and I still have the same problem. When I try to open a video(MPEG) file it says I have to register to get the plug in....What now?

IS THERE A DIFFERENT PROGRAM THAT WILL LET ME PLAY AND EDIT VIDEOS?
