Help Please Problems Downloading

I have just installed kazaa lite ++. I am having some problems downloading. after the song is downloaded and i start to play, i start to hear static (like a tv tuned to the white snow) loud hissing and noise. what is causing this. Also how do i know what version of k-lite i have. any insite would be appreciate
