for some reason i have my file going 30 KB/s with unlimited upload, etc. and i'm uploading at 60 KB/s

but then I cap the u/l to say, 10 KB/s...its supposed to increase my d/l speed right?

but then as my u/l speed drops so does my d/l!

so i end up uploading at 10 KB/s while d/l at 5 KB/s!

i have dsl...is this just a coincidence, cuz i've noticed it on every torrent i've tried to cap.

as a general rule of thumb it good to have at least a 2 - 5 sare rating before capping the ul speed if you want you dl to go faster

upload = proportional to download, just dont bullshit to much with your upload and share unto 90% percent of your maximum upload speed

Why should it increase your download speed when you cap your u/l?

To everyone turning super-seed on by default:
PLEASE DON'T.
When lots of people on a torrent are using super-seed,
it greatly reduces the torrent's efficiency.
The only people who should be using super-seed
are those doing initial seeding or re-seeding.

I always leave my upload speed on unlimited because well, the whole purpose is to share for one thing, I can spare the bandwidth, and the download speed is directly proportional to the upload speed. The lower the UL, the lower the DL.

i use Nova Torrent and notice i upload the most to the users i download the most from, and since nova is based on python, so i'm sure most clients "reward" uploaders.

EDIT: you you want to limit upload speed on torrents with more seeders then leachers, it wont effect download speeds as much.
