no one should recommend or encourage the use of nero to encode your video
you need to encode with a proper encoder like tmpgenc

What month and year was your dvd player made ?

Read your dvd player's manual and see if it can read svcd. If the manual does not say then you might be looking at a low priced or older dvd player. Email the dvd company's customer service dept and tell them the model number of your dvd player and ask them if it can read svcd. You can also ask them what month and year your model is, if your manual does not say or if the back or bottom of the dvd player does not have a date sticker.

Before you buy your next dvd player, research the features a lot and spend some extra $$ on it and it will be able to play more file formats.

Use www.google.com to find your dvd company's website and email addresses.

    good luck,
