Thread: Copying Avis To Cds

  1. #1
I have just downloaded a few movies and want to know how to copy them to a normal 700mb CD. I have read a lot of different threads relating to this but can't understand why when I convert my 310mb AVI with TMPGenc it becomes a 900mb MPG. Surely this can't be right?
How am I supposed to convert a 800mb file without using loads of CDs per movie? Also, I have no idea how to split a movie onto more than one CD.

I know there are loads of tools for converting and whatnot, but I am new to this and its all very overwhelming, all I want is one really easy method.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

    Thanks,
    Z

If you wish to convert the movie to an mpeg the general rule is that each minute will equal about 10mb, thus an 80 minute movie will be 800mb. The only popular way to avoid this is to use KVCD, which I am not a real big fan of, the monkey can help you with that...

If all you want to do is put your avi's on to CD then all you need is a CD burner and software (recommend Nero).
