Thread: My E Drive Has Disappeared?

    ok, i need help!! my E drive (the one that copies dvds and cds) has just vanished, like its not there?? does any one know what i should do? i know im such a noob, but i really havnt a clue. like it was working fine a couple of hours ago. i installed dvdxcopy a wee while after that, could that have anything to do with it?im gonna post this in the software section aswell as i think that it may be to do with dvdxcopy which i installed. all help would be appreciated

    Press the Windows key and the break key together, then find the Device Manager. Look under CDROM and see if your DVDRW has a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

    If it does then it is a driver or hardware problem, if it doesn't it's a software problem.

    Click Enable Device to enable this device.

    when i click on properites thats whats on it, but it wont let me enable it. it just says it is not able to enable this drive. does any one know what i should do?

    The red x means it is disabled, try reinstalling its driver

    ahh, theres another problem there, umm i dont have the cd with the drivers on it. my uncle does, as i broke the pc a few weeks back and had to buy a new hard drive for it and he re-installed everything, so is there any other way i could get the driver rather than letting him know ive gone and f*cked up my computer again?

    i tried the sony website but cant see any. ive been searchin google, but it has none, all it has is like drivers for alcohol and all

    As for the E drive. Try uninstalling it and reboot. Perhaps Windows will reinstall it for you. If not then try Windows Update.
