Thread: Kazaa Crashing

  1. #1
Okay I just got Kazaa Lite two days ago and its giving me this problem.

Basically what happened was, I was in the middle of downloading a song looking at the Traffic screen (just one song because I am on a dialup) and all of a sudden Kazaa crashes.

KAZAALITE caused an invalid page fault in

Okay, not that big of a deal, I think. I try to restart Kazaa, it loads and connects just fine. However, about two seconds after I go to the traffic screen it crashes again. So I try this one or two more times.

I restarted my computer. Nothing. I go to the FAQ.

-I have no other internet programs open except one window of IE.
-I am not using any tools that search for more sources. These are the ones that I have: AVI preview, KSig, Kdat, KaZupernodes, and IP blocker updater.
-I have a lot of memory
-I shut down Kazaa lite and moved all the .dat files (10 or so) to another folder
-My maximum number of uploads is 2
-My maximum sources per file is 5
-My maximum bandwidth is 24, I am on a 56k modem
-I tried deleting the 'database files', didn't work

Absolutely nothing worked. The curious thing about it, is that I can keep downloading as long as I want to. But as soon as I click on Traffic, no matter how many downloads are on the screen, it's all done for. I can restart Kazaa Lite immediately, though.

The reason this is a bad thing is because there is no way for me to pause downloads, to resume downloads, to search for more sources on downloads, or even to check and see if the song is downloading at all.

I tried searching the forum and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know what to do?

I should add that after I click to close Kazaa Lite the first time, the window closes as normal, and then another illegal operation dialog pops up.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm using version 2.4.3 ... hope that helps.

Were you using something else before KLite. If you had another version running then you will need to fully uninstall, remove any remnants, clean reg, runadaware, then install updated version.

look for a corrupt file in your shared folder too.

I was using the newest version of Standard Kazaa. Should that be a problem?

If it is, how do I do that clean reg and adaware stuff? Sorry, I've just never heard of them before.
